Ingleby Calls It A Day!
Burnley Vice-Chairman, Ray Ingleby resigned from the Board on Friday citing personal reasons.
Ingleby grew up in St Annes before starting a career in the Advertising industry. He eventually formed his own company, the Ingelby Communications Corporation which grew into the New York-based Caribiner International Inc. He remained Chairman and CEO at the company unitl returning to the UK when he expanded his business interests into property and became heavily involved with Rushcliffe Properties.
He had been a director at Burnley FC for over a decade joining the Board in February 1999 after purchasing £500,000 worth of shares in the club.
Ingleby previously had earlier tried to buy the club in a power struggle with Frank Teasdale and the rest of the board at that time before supporting Barry Kilby in his attempt of a club takeover.
He became Vice-Chairman in September 1999 once Kilby had succeeded in his attempt to become Chairman.
It does sound though like Ingleby could be tempted to return in some capacity at a future date.
He told the local press:
' I have loved the last 12 years being involved with Burnley FC and I would hope to get back involved with this great club at some point in the future'
