Youth Team & Reserves Update

7-0 Youth Team Thrashing of Accy

Terry Pashley's Youth team got their Puma Youth Alliance League Division North West Conference league campaign off to a flying start with a 7-0 drubbing of Accrington Stanley at Gawthorpe on Saturday.

Goal 1: Joe Jackson sliding ball home after keeper parried a shot by Tom Taylor (11 minutes)

Goal 2: Joe McKee volley from a Joe Jackson cross (20 minutes)

Goal 3: Tom Taylor nodded in off the post from a Ross Wilson cross (37 minutes)

Goal 4: Ross Wilson knocks in from close range following a defensive block of Tom Taylor's shot (44 minutes)

Half-Time: 4-0

Goal 5: A squared ball from Ross Wilson found Tom Taylor to score his brace at the far post.(50 minutes)

Goal 6: Joe Jackson gets his brace after being picked ot by Ross Wilson (86 minutes)

Goal 7: A McKee free-kick from the touchline found Ed Williams climbing at the far post to head home our final goal and complete the rout.

Burnley team: Christian Thewlis, Curtis Woods (Dean Overson), Ed Williams, Tom Anderson, Alex Coleman, Dave Lynch (Archie Love), Steven Hewitt (Alex Mullin), Ross Wilson, Tom Taylor, Joe McKee, Joe Jackson

Subs not used: Josh Cook, Steven Edwards

Reserves game against Morecambe Postponed

Morecambe's involvement in the totesport.com League Cup has led to our Reserves match at the Kendal Town's Lakeland Radio Stadium on Wednesday night (25th August) being called off.

There is as yet no indication of a revised date for this match. Burnley Reserves will next be in action on Tuesday 7th September with Accrington Stanley the visitors to Turf Moor (7pm Kick-Off)
