Rumour Mill-Burnley linked with McCormack.

It has been reported on Skysports.com that striker, Ross McCormack could be leaving Cardiff City. The Bluebirds are understood to be willing to let the Scotland international depart following their signing of Craig Bellamy from Manchester City.

Burnley are one of a number of clubs keeping a close eye on developments along with Championship rivals, Derby, Ipswich, Leeds and Hull City. It would appear though that a move to both the KC Stadium and Portman Road are no longer an option after talks fell through.

McCormack joined Cardiff for £125,000 in the summer of 2008.

The Bluebirds rejected a bid in the region of £3.5million from Hull last summer.

Since that time McCormack has struggled with injury and when playing in the team often found himself playing a wider role.

McCormack's agent, Willie McKay, has confirmed the 24-year-old could be leaving the Cardiff City Stadium either on loan or on a permanent basis.

Interesting development bearing in mind former City striker, Steven Thompson is also at the club

McCormack loked very good when we lost at Ninian Park fairly late on in our promotion run-in.

Would be a good loan signing at first and if we get promoted and he gets a few goals then it could be made permanent.

hmmm - But if a player cannot get a start for Cardiff, Is he good enough for Burnley?I know he scored a lot the season before last, but how many were pens? I am not sure I can recall seeing him play.
Claretdale
Claretgale i think he would prosper at burnley Cardiff are in a mess & Bellamy is not the answer, I think mcCormack knows that and thats why he want away
Albmaleaf claret
Not sure about this one: how many has he scored in his career and in recent seasons?
whentheballmoves
Looks like a 1-in-3 to 4 ish strike rate
turfmanphil
Also plays on wing which may give us more options

albmaleaf - Do we know how much of it is him wanting away? and how much the club wanting him away?
Claretdale
To be fair, the last striker to sign from Cardiff, who allegedly never scored, didn't do too badly! :)

Do we really need another striker? I would have thought a decent, creative midfielder or defender would have been a bigger priority. If we got McCormack what would we do with Eagles, who seems to be a player in the same vane, he can't get a game!

If Cardiff want rid of a striker tell em we will buy Chopra.

I think we do need another striker, CC and preferably a big name like McCormack or Maynard etc. Midfield though should still be a priority with McCann out (despite Cork in)! Maybe we should raid Cardiff for Peter Whittingham, that would show we really mean business and indeed prove we have gone down stronger! It's all gone quiet since our previous link was announced

Will bow to your superior knowledge TMP. I've only seen the boys on TV here so it's difficult to assess properly. I would hate to see us top heavy with strikers though when the defence appeared to be a bit wobbly against Forest. Still think we'll finish top 3 though.

It would be a good signing, but I don't think the strikers are the problem at the min. Its the service, that final ball needs to be better. I also think at home, we should play pato alongside Iwelumo or thompson for the nod downs. It would help.

Leeds are holding talks with him at the moment think personally he would be better at burnley
