Reserves & Youth Team Fixtures Update

Reserves & Youth Team Fixtures Update

Accrington Stanley are still struggling to improve their pitch and in order to protect against potential damage our Reserves home fixture against Oldham Athletic tomorrow (Tuesday 17th August) which was due to be played at the Crown Ground will now become the away fixture and will be played at Stalybridge Celtic's ground, Mottram Road instead.(7pm Kick-Off)

There are also of course pitch improvements underway at Turf Moor and our opening first team game was played on a pitch only about one third finished with the flanks still to have fibres added. Although there will be more reserves action seen at Turf Moor this season, on this occasion it was not possible to swop home venues.

Also there have been a number of other changes to the Reserves fixture list which you may not have been aware of and the amended fixture list is published in full along with the first team and youth team fixtures on our special Fixtures 2010/11 page which you can access from the Vital Burnley Menu at the top of our homepage and selecting 'Fixtures 2010-11' from the dropdown.

The Puma Youth Alliance League Division North West Conference got underway last Saturday but the Clarets youth did not have a fixture. They open their account on Saturday August 21st with a home game against Accrington Stanley to be be played at Gawthorpe.

There are a odd number of teams in the division this season following the demise of Chester City so one team each week will find it doesn't have a game to play. It was Burnley's turn last Saturday!

Another oddity this season is that all of our opening eight games will be at home and will be played at Gawthorpe. Why you may ask? There is a simple answer, Gawthorpe will undergo renovation in October so will be unavailable for sometime.

Our home games at Gawthorpe until then will all kick-off at 11 am except for our second match. That game will be against Blackpool on 27th August and will be a 2pm start.

Vital Burnley are of course the designated club's official fanzine for 2010-11 and we thank Burnley Football Club for also giving the site permission to reproduce the youth team fixtures in full.

You can now see the full 2010-11 first team, reserves and youth team fixtures by clicking link:

As I will already be in Rossendale for our first team home games, I might take in a few of the earlier youth games
