The Dodgy Knee of McCann Strikes Again!

Chris McCann could be unable to play in our opening game of the season at home to Nottingham Forest on Saturday 7th August because of a knee problem. He was substituted as a precaution on the half-hour mark in our first match of the Singapore tour against Gombak United and has not featured in our pre-season friendlies since that time.

McCann also missed the behind-closed-doors draw with Accrington Stanley this week and he must be wondering if last season's bad luck is about to repeat itself. Chris missed most of our Premier League campaign last season due to two unrelated injuries to his knee including a serious cruciate and medial logament injury in the first part of the season.

Gaffer, Brian Laws told the Lancashire Telegraph

"The physio just felt it would be too soon for him after our flight back,

"I suppose there has to be a question mark over whether he will play in the first game."

Drat! He does seem to be having some rotten luck! Let's hope he will soon be back fighting fit

Worrying times for Chris BFC and the fans hope this is just a setback and not relating to last seasons injury.

Doesn't sound too good this. Cruciate ligament injuries are prone to recur, but I hope it's not that. Groan . . . . .

We need Chris back in the starting 11, But I'm happy for him to be kept on the bench if we are winning games

Think what his knees will be like when he is 60?

This is a big season for McCann - hope this latest setback is nothing too serious.

Dealing with this type of injury in the clinic every week we need a replacement for McCann as soon as possible, this injury will be a problem all season, and i realy do pray it is not, but the kind of stick its going to get week in week out it wont hold out
