Rumour Mill

Various stories have circulated citing the name of Michael Chopra as a Clarets target. Club Call and Fans FC have linked the Newcastle man with a possible transfer to Turf Moor.

Any chances of Scunthorpe striker Billy Sharp joining the ranks appear doomed after Clarets manager Steve Cotterill rubbished the reports saying: 'In relation to Billy Sharp, someone is being very active promoting him. But if I had £300,000 to spend I would have spent it by now.'

There have been rumours of enquiries for all four transfer listed players, although there is nothing concrete at the moment. Brighton and Millwall are likely to be the teams after Gifton Noel-Williams, and Leicester manager Rob Kelly has expressed an interest in midfielder Micah Hyde, as reported on Vital Burnley.

He definitely wont have much of a chance at newcastle next season he has been released! However under the new rules Newcastle are still owed compensation for him as he is under a certain age.

interesting prospect is chopra. can see the fee being a bit high for us though to be fair, probably more than £2.50.
