Foxes Eye Hyde Swoop

Burnley midfielder Micah Hyde has been linked with a move to Championship rivals Leicester City, according to reports.

Hyde, who was placed on the transfer list at the end of the season, is seen as an ideal capture for Foxes boss Rob Kelly.

The 31-year-old midfielder is vastly experienced at Championship level, and out of favour at Turf Moor, so a move could be a realistic possibility.

he wont be missed then i take it, can he still play in the championship or is he past it?

He can still cut it IMO. Had a bit of an inconsistent season for us. Personally, I was surprised when he was put on the list, although plenty of people weren't.

He can be a decent enough player when he wants to be and that is his problem. Inconsistency. Last season was the worst of his 2 with us. He dallied on the ball too much usually geting caught in posession which lead to a few goals being conceded. He also gave away a number of silly free kicks and penalties. He will always be remembered for that goal against the B******s but he just can not live off that one thing alone and it is time for him to move on.

yeah, might give him a new lease of life so to speak. Think he could do a good job at Leicester, and if we get a fee, its happy days all round really.

I was shocked when he was put on the list. I think he could still offer us something, but wish him luck wherever he ends up. Bit of a harsh statement there claretnbooze. Are you Simon Cowell in disguise?

I think there is more to this than meets the eye! Although Hyde has had an indifferent performance this season and has been culpable on a number of occasions making errors leading to goals for the opposition, I think that incident in the tunnel during the Leeds match and his reported homesickeness for the South have led to a cooling in the relationship between Micah and the manager with these issues affecting his play. That coupled with the fact that with Mahon and the ever improving McCann we have a reasonable set of midfielders leads to the conclusion we can let the 31 year old go!

....however if Hyde does go, in my opinion we still do need a defensive type of midfielder who can steady the ship and act like that 'midfield general' we have been used to over the years with Grant and Hyde
