Trialist Gets Brace in Buxton Victory

The Burnley Reserves team played their first warm-up game of the season last night travelling to Derbyshire to play Evo Stick Premier League club, Buxton at Silverlands. First-team boss Brian Laws was at the game to check out a potential transfer target who was unnamed and appeared on the team sheet as a trialist!

The striker did his cause no harm bagging a brace of goals in the first half.

He took less than 30 seconds to score his first goal which came from the first Clarets attack! Alex MacDonald put over a cross with the trialist diving at full stretch to head home.

A defensive mistake on 37 minuutes was then pounced on by the trialist and he rounded the Buxton keeper, Scott Hartley to slot home into an empty net.

Wes Fletcher was also on target scoring in the 75th minute after Chris Anderson split the defence putting him clear sliding home a low shot with his right foot.

The Clarets finally came out winners 3-0 on a pleasing night for new reserve team and development squad coach Ashley Hoskin

Burnley: Woodhead, Williams (Woods 71), King, Lynch, Long, Harvey, Anderson, Fletcher, Knowles, Trialist. Subs not used: McKee, Wilson, Edwards, Overson, D Lynch

Come on TMP spill the beans over this trialist...
OooDavidEyres
Errr Phil it was 3 nil according the the burnley official site. Rumours are that the trialist was Paris Cowan-Hall a 19 Year old lad from Pompey.

Certainly looks and exciting player from that youtube link, if indeed he was the trialist?

Cotteril has got rid of the reserves team at Portsmouth that's why he's a free agent, At the Start of the game At the start of the game Cowan-Hall is languishing in the Portsmouth reserves. At 19 he is still developing as a player In Game In my game he didnt play for Portsmouth, was loaned out for a season to League 1 where he basically did nothing, and after approx 3 years was released by Portsmouth Summary Cowan-Hall is a pacey striker with two good feet. He's energetic and likes to work the channels creating space for the players around him Positives * Two Footed - As we all know in FM, being able to use both feet well is of huge importance. When looking at Cowan-Hall's stats, they're not impressive, but the fact he can use both feet completely changes the picure * Acceleration - Cowan-Hall's acceleration and pace will get him clear of defenders. * Predator - Although his stats dont show it, this kid is always in the right place at the right time. The amount of tap-ins this guy scores is almost criminal. If a goalie trips over a ball and runs clear, it will run clear to him. He's the luckiest player I've seen in a long time Negatives One Dimesnional - Every team needs a goal scorer and Cowan-Hall is definitely that. The problem is, that if he's not scoring goals, he's not doing allot else. If you look at the screenie, you can see his assits rate is deplorable for a striker Attitude - Every time I ever have an interaction with Cowan-Hall, I end up wanting to punch him in the face. I asked him to play off the defenders shoulder (due to his pace) and he didnt feel it would benefit him. He thinks he's a superstar, he's not Blasting Shots - He tends to blast shots even from close range. Great when it goes in, annoying when it hits row z

Totally - you have come up with some great stuff today! Brilliant research!!
Couch Potato
Not sure about his performance but that YouTube clip has had me wandering around the house singing "Young Gifted and Black" for some reason. Funny that?

Great research Totally answers alot of questions. The big question is he worth a punt as there is no transfer fee involved and he won't be on huge wages?

Kind of reminds me of another certain trialist we had not long back and a similar youtube clip which had me singing 'Young Gifted and Black' aswell Andy. It was Fernando Guerrero but I can't find the clip now. It was when he was playing for Real Madrid Castilla and he looked amazing. I'm gutted that I can't find it anymore. lol

Not the same Regae beat but the same look about him. I agree. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5YRrujwxeiw
