Vital Burnley World Cup Prediction League-Update

Vital Burnley World Cup Prediction League-Update

England might be out but there is still the little matter of deciding who wins the cash in our Vital Burnley World Cup Prediction League. Claret Dale provides an update below as we enter the semi-final stages this week before the final is played out on Sunday 11th July in Johannesburg.

************************************************

With only 4 teams left in the first African World Cup, and potentially the only 3 games left to predict, the table provided below is the last update before the winner is announced

Couch Potato is still our leader and has increased his lead at the top with yet another '2 point` result. Well done again CP.

No points were scored by anyone (blind patriotism?) in that horror show against Germany and only Jame had confidence in the Germans to beat Argentina. She was therefore the only person to pick up a point in either of these two games. Maybe Germany has been under-estimated by all?

The very best of luck to all still entered. There are still enough points to play for and anyone can still win the top prize!

As always, please check your score and contact me if you think there has been a calculation error.

Dale

I didnt think that Germany were that special against us, but they broke really really well against Argentina ( i only saw 2nd half). I hope Holland win it!

I have predicted Spain to beat Germany, but Germany are winning my respect, both for the way they have built this squad and for the way they are playing. Neither Spain nor Holland have quite sparkled yet. Uruguay are looking at injuries, suspensions and almost certainly an exit. Have either Germany or Holland been up against a defence as good as Spain's yet? Spain to win it all, I reckon, but don't expect any more fireworks, unless Holland get a couple of early goals in the semi.

I thought I would be way down with my recent predictions, will the third place play-off be included in the predictions?

8c8 it depends on who is victorious. If Uruguay and Germany both win - their would not be a prediction for the 3/4th place play off.

What about if Uruguay and Germany both lose? If the 3rd place game does come into play, Barnsey or Palsdad could still top our league, despite having no points to date... if they get every score exactly right. By the way, the football's not always been the best, but I am enjoying this World Cup!!!

If they both lose CP - We predict their results and also their conquerors ( ie. the final)! And yes you are right - With 4 correct scorelines, someone who hasny predicted a single game to date can win this league and the top prize!

Before the tournament we all expected the so-called stars to shown their worth but it just hasn't happened. Rogue, ManPhil, 'sdad and Collector - along with myself - just haven't performed. Clearly young Potato is the David Villa of the Vital World Cup though SheClaret's only appearance was frustratingly promising.

Was that young potato or early potato? Tightening up at the top a bit in the late stages.
