Rumour Mill-Wallace the Winger for Clarets?

According to Sky Sports Burnley are lining up a move for 25 year old Preston winger Ross Wallace.

Burnley look to have switched their attention to Wallace after failing with their attempt to sign Hearts wideman, Andrew Driver

Wallace joined Preston from Sunderland initially on loan in 2008 before signing a permanent four-and-a-half year contract at Deepdale in January 2009

He started his professional career with Celtic in 2002 before joining the Black Cats in August 2006 along with teammate and former Clarets loan,Stanislav Varga.

He is a Scotland international with just one cap to his name so far.

There's an intro to a story on bbcwww saying 'Andrew Driver has a successful knee operation, but the winger will miss Hearts' pre-season trip to Italy.' But the rest of the story is not on the site yet. I would have been a bit anxious spening loadsamoney on someone just coming off knee surgery. So I am sad but not unhappy that Driver's off our radar. Moving on... Ross Wallace has looked goodish to me on the few occasions I have noticed him. Wasn't it his free kick, in the evening game after we were pelted with oranges at Southampton, that made Birmingham wait for promotion, made us wait for the play-off spot and help get Preston one of those spots too? It was very well struck. My sense is he would indeed add something to our team at Championship level. But I stand ready to be corrected.

Spot on that CP - I was at a mates in Poole that night and his American wife couldnt understand my devastation when that goal went in - I went from being safe in the knowledge our spot was secure to certain we would miss out in just a few second.

CD - I was in a sports bar in Salisbury, and wouldn't you know there was a Rover watching too, along with a few Brummies! In fairness, the Rover was a really nice guy, and was worrying about whether a physio job he'd just been offered at Southampton was going to get axed as a result of the Saints learning that day that they would start the next season on minus points. Saints had literally been begging with buckets all that day.

He seems to have a good pedigree and we needed a elft sided player. Get the feeling mad vlad at Hearts was being mad. They wanted £3.5 mill cash up front we offered £2.5mill up front and up to £4 mill in add ons and a percentage of sell on. Thats a great deal for Driver.
