Rumour Mill-Blackpool Rock for Carlisle?

Clarke Carlisle's future at Turf Moor seemed assured after signing a new two year contract which was announced only last May.

Blackpool boss, Ian Holloway though may have other ideas after speculation in the Times today suggest he has Clarke Carlisle as well as Robbie Blake (or is it now Wolves striker Sylvan Ebanks-Blake?)on his radar. Carlisle of course also started his professional career with the Seasiders

If there is any rumour in the gossip, would Carlisle be tempted to move to the Premier League new boys after being keen to show loyalty to the Clarets?

Typical just when we have a settled central defence pairing of Bikey and Cort and Carlisle and Duff and Edgar along comes a lashing......it is countdown time to the shouts of sack the board and that manager.......whatever next!

Interesting one - He seemed reasonably fond of them on his skysports commentary debut at the end of the season so he may not be against a move back there. Wouldnt know where to start with a £ value for him that is acceptable though?

I can't see him going after what he has said. But there again, I couldn't see Fletcher going after what he said . I don't think Blackpool will have the readies to offer him a greater amount of cash, so it depends how happy he is with us, and his contract. The only lure as far as I see it is the instant return to the prem.

Still think he would be slightly better off with us. Blackpool were not as strong as us at this stage last season. Alot of their players were loans, also the stadium is currently not as good as ours and we need to improve ours. I think he would be better staying with us to see if we can bounce back. For all the Blackpool fans, I'm not slagging you off just saying what I see, I would really like you to stay up and do really well. Your my Prem team for next year.

If Bfc had stayed up, would we have been looking at any of Blackpool's players to come in and strengthen our squad? The full back on loan from Everton is a good player. Charlie Adam could have helped our midfield. But after that? I am with Skutter in backing Blackpool next year, but also agree with Olly, when he said that the team would probably get hammered. Another factor for Carlisle is whether he wants another season of that. At the moment, I can't see Blackpool spending big money to prevent it. All the sounds seem to be about a focus on building up the organisation rather than rolling the dice on a squad that will do a runner if they get relegated.

Agree CP. It seemed form the interviews after the game that building that fourth stand was a high priority - I wouldnt bother, the tougher/unusual atmospher for visiting clubs, the better. Dale
