'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Burnley X-Files: The Gud Terrier!

Huddersfield have signed former Clarets Iceland international Joey Gudjonsson on a free transfer.

Gudjonsson was out-of-contract in the summer and burnt his bridges with the club after allegedly criticsing Brian Laws on an Icelandic website suggesting the gaffer had 'lost the dressing room'

The midfielder, 30 has signed a two-year contract with the League One side who missed out on promotion this season after reaching the Play Offs semi-final stage.

Terriers gaffer Lee Clark talking about the signing said:

'Joey is very energetic and plays with a real intensity. He's a box-to-box player who is very competitive.

'He can play at the level we want to reach and has great experience of both Premiership and Championship football in this country.

'That experience is vital, but he also still has the desire to be successful.

'I know we've beaten Championship clubs to his signature, which shows that word is getting around about how ambitious we are and that we're doing things in the right way.

'It's a bit of a coup that we haven't had to pay a transfer fee for a lad of his quality too.'

Looks like I might get chance to see Joey play again live since I now have a new work contract in Huddersfield!!

Would imagine Joey would be a very useful player at this level.

TMP - I hope you received the Word file of my Joey story from a past (Jan 2009?) WTBM and will consider sticking it on here. It's called something like Christmas Comedy Award 2008

Hope he doesn't blow his top again.
