A Corker for Laws?

The Official Site yesterday confirmed that Brian Laws was interested in signing Jack Cork again on loan from Chelsea.

The 21 year old midfielder made an impression for the Clarets last season after coming on loan in the New Year. Cork played 11 times for Burnley during his four month spell and capped his time at the club with a goal in the final game of the season against Spurs at Turf Moor.

It is understood that Laws has already contacted Chelsea about his interest in Cork for next season. Chelsea though are unlikely to make a decision until after the Blues have completed their pre-season at Stamford Bridge.

I would be very impressed if we can strike a deal to bring Cork back - Personally I can only see him going on loan to a PL club.

I hope we do have him back. He impressed me last season with his work rate and commitment on the field. I reckon he would work well alongside Dean Marney.
Brompton Claret
and where would Chris Mccann and Grezza go Brompton? :-)
Claretdale
Well they'd all be fighting for the starting lineup. But it's good to have choices. Players drop in and out of form during a season and there can be injury problems (McCann).
Brompton Claret
Totally agree Brompton - Thats what having a squad is about. This season, in theory, will be the strongest squad we have had in many a year.
Claretdale
Let's hope so! At least Laws will start with his own design instead of playing catch-up. Time will tell if he gets it right but for me he starts with a clean slate and gets my support.
Brompton Claret
Would be a class signing, and has played at this level before. Spoke to a Scunny fan last night who say he is still talked about fondly there. Why not stick at a loan deal, though? Probably never going to get into the 1st team at Chelski, where they can always afford to buy the best players going. Watch this space: have a feeling he may well come here.

please sign jack, Chelsea please let him.
Grimsby Claret
I think he'll come back to us , he's on record as saying he enjoyed his time here. The only fly in the ointment may be a premiership club asking for him, as Dale pointed out. But there again, he may well decide to come here, providing Chelsea approve the move. One thing is for certain, he'll be a big star in the championship.

Yep,agree we need a few quality players in the squad who have Prem experience and Cork now fits the bill nicely. The more of his ilk we get, which is why we should keep hold of Fletcher, the easier it will be to get promotion at first attempt

He's a future star for us, sorry lads. If Holloway is interested, I'm not sure if Chelsea will let him go to Burnley..
