Thommo Follows Duffo & Signs New Deal

Two of the four players offered new contracts have accepted the deals this week. Both Micheal Duff and Steve Thompson will be Clarets players next season so we are just now awaiting news of two more players who were out of contract this summer, Robbie Blake and Brian Jensen.

Thompson has accepted a one year with an extra 12-month option.Brian Laws speaking about the new deal said:

"He did really well last season and I`m delighted that he has agreed to stay.

"He`s a player who is well liked at the football club who I think will make a mark again next season.

"I am delighted to have that experience in the squad and again he is a player who knows what`s required to get out of the Championship."

Michael Duff who signed earlier in the week has signed a new two year deal.Duff told BBC Radio Lancashire:

'I'm delighted to stay. There was interest from other clubs but I never wanted to look elsewhere.

'I'm more than happy where I am. Once the two parties came together it was quite easily done.'

As I have said elsewhere - The main 2 I wanted to stay. I think they will both be an important part of the squad next season.
