Rumour Mill-Clarets hope to Kilkenny?
24 year old midfielder, Neil Kilkenny is reported to be on Brian Laws rader today.
Burnley as well as QPR and Middlesbrough are understood to be in a battle to sign the Australian international.
Kilkenny was signed from Birmingham in January 2008 for £150,000 following an emergency loan spell. He still has one year left on his contract and Leeds rate the player to be worth £3 million. He was instrumental this season in helping Leeds gain promotion from League 1.
Although born in Enfield, Middlesex, at age 4 he emigrated to Australia with his parents and grew up in Brisbane before returning to these shores at the age of twelve after being invited to join Arsenal's Youth Development scheme. Coming through their Academy he finally left the Gunners and joined Birmingham City on a free transfer in January 2004 having also had trails with Manchester City, Aston Villa and Leicester City.
Kilkenny struggled to make an impression at St Andrews and in total only made 26 appearances for the club. During his four years with Brum he also had two loan spells at Oldham.
