Rumour Mill-Signed for £1.5 Million? Hulse Say

James Nursey writing for the Daily Mirror today suggests that Burnley have agreed £1.5 million for Derby County striker, Rob Hulse

The Clarets were linked with the 30 year old striker earlier this week as reported by Vital Burnley in the following article:

Rumour Mill-Finger on the Hulse Again?

Hulse signed for Derby from Sheffield United in July 2008 for £1.75m and has previously played for Crewe, West Brom and Leeds United. The striker scored 12 goals for the Rams last season and has one year left on his contract.

Although a fee appears to have been agreed between the two clubs both Brian Laws and Rob Hulse are currently on holiday, so a deal is not expected to be finalised until next month.

It is thought by the Mirror that Hulse is being lined up as a replacement for Steven Fletcher who is currently interesting a number of Premier League clubs including so far, Wolves, Birmingham, West Ham and Bolton.

It's going to be a busy month in June for Brian!!! Not sure I agree with the suggestion that £1.5m has already been agreed. Had the report been written by Nixon, I would have been more convinced. This Nursey seems to be writing a lot of Clarets stuff recently. Is Nixon on holiday too?? ;-)

Seems to me a bit expensive at £1.5m and the 12 goals last year didn't set the championship on fire, give me Fletcher and Thompson any day of the week.

Laws seems open to spending money on players who will only decay in value. Cort and if this is true Hulse (Don't misinterpret this as I mean he will only buy this sort of player). I always agreed with Coyle's philosophy of buying younger players that would appreciate in value. We will never recoup anything for Leon Cort should we decide to move him on and likewise for Hulse should we buy him.

Hulse will get the goals, I am unsure who he would be replacing though? maybe Vin could have a word with his nursey to have a word with this nursey and spill the beans.

Let's wait and hear from the horse's mouth . Roll on August when all this speculation will be over and done with.
