Stoke Pre-season Friendly Announced

The Clarets will play Stoke City in a pre-season friendly at Turf Moor on Saturday 31st July.

This will be an opportunity for former Stoke defender,Leon Cort to play against his former club and the Premier league opposition will be a good test for the Clarets preparing to return to the top flight at their first attempt following relegation this season.

This news follows the earlier announcement today that the Clarets will also be going on a training tour to the Far East for ten days from the 14th July.

They will be visiting specifically Singapore and Bali and are hoping to play three friendly games out in the Far East before returning to the UK.

Not much that can be said about this one - Never a fan of friendlies myself anyway.

Agree Dale, last season against Leeds was a poor show. Bradford wasn't that great either Inverness Caledonian Thistle the season before was inspiring as I thought that Remco Van Der Shaff looked good....and then......

To be fair though , these games are designed to get the squad fit for the seasons start , result and performance are irrelivant , its a case of getting match practise and intergrating new players !

Totally agree Bernie - They are important and the results are pretty irrelevant. Fitness is the main factor. I just struggle to obtain any enthusiasm for watching them.
