'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Which of Our Players Does Coyle Not Actually Want?

Do you think Burnley FC could get a gagging order for the media who continually seem to speculate about our players moving to Bolton in the summer to be reunited with Susan'Judas'Boyle?

The sloppy journalists working for the 'Red Tops' in particular are having a field day linking Burnley players with a move to the Reebok in the summer but now even our local press are at it.

The media speculation really is becoming a 'Boyle on the Bum' at the moment

There is no doubt that Owen Coyle would like to come a poaching in the summer and there is probably a high chance that some of the players would relish the prospect of playing for their former gaffer again, especially if Bolton stay up and the Clarets go down! But with four games still to play and the Clarets only five points behind the club from Horwich anything could still happen.

Coyle has been linked with a move for Tyrone Mears, Kevin McDonald,Steven Fletcher, Clarke Carlisle, Stephen Jordan and even Brian Jensen so far. The latest is now Wade Elliott if the Lancashire Telegraph is to be believed!

Sigh! Oh well at least Kalvenes has folied the master in the battle to avoid having to play at the Reebok. 'Stuff that I am off to Norway!' he reportedly told Alan Nixon. Guess that must be a case of 'Foil's War' or is it 'Coyle's War'?

Is nobody in our squad safe from the dreaded Bolton link in the media? Hell we still have four weeks of the season left and the close season for this sloppy journalism to continue. What do they do each week draw a Burnley player out of the hat for the 'Joining Coyle' treatment?

Paul Fletcher though appears to be coming to our rescue and is quoted in the Lancashire Telegraph as follows:

"It`s part and parcel of Burnley as a club. People will think we are rich pickings for the wealthy teams but we intend to keep hold of our best players whether we are in the Premier League or Championship," he said.

"We`ve got four games to go and we`ve still a reasonable chance of staying up."

Oh well, just another incentive to try and avoid the drop. It would certainly be interesting if we managed to stay up. I would love it if Brian Laws was the one knocking on Coyle's door instead! Up the Clarets!

Vital Burnley wish to thank Vital Bolton for allowing us to nick their photographs without telling them!!

By the way for a bit of fun which Bolton players would you have at the Turf? I think just three-Jääskeläinen, Lee and Cahill!!

I keep praying for justice, which is still possible that Bolton lose all their remaining games and we win ours. Or am I still daring to dream.
sheclaret
Who could they afford out of the burnley squad they are in bigger trouble with the bank than Hull.
Fedupclaret
It will be intersting to see if any bank actually has the bottle to apply for a winding up order to get its money back from a PL or Championship club. Their fear is that doing that might reduce what they eventually get. But it would be very interesting to be a fly on the wall in meetings between Hull, Bolton, Hammers, Liverpool and their bankers. Meanwhile Southend have a week to find £400,000 for the taxman, Cardiff have a day in court on 7 May, I think it is, and who knows what is going on at Pompey under the smoke screen of the adminstrator's news feeds. Bolton's debt is to an Icelandic Bank; they might be less squeamsih about putting an English club up against the wall than a British one.
Couch Potato
Credit has to go to Kilby and the board for the way they have handled the finances of the club since we been in the prem and not gone into debt.
Fedupclaret
Careful Fedupclaret you just might wind 1 0r 2 of the lads up with those words (not me)

I cant see Owen coming for Wade to be honest - I think as a general rule he has struggle this season ( despite being one of our best players for the 2-3 previous seasons).
Claretdale
100 % plus agree with that Dale.
RickersTwickers
Wade could go to notloB if we stay up and as sheclaret puts it they go down. How funny would that be if they swapped the headlines and it was notloB players leaving.....never say never!
VinRogue
Would be interesting to know which of our players Bolton fans would warm too. Not many so far by all accounts
turfmanphil
That's not going to happen unfortunately VR, Bolton are playing well at the moment and will secure the points required I think. Assuming we continue the revival, we will be looking at West Ham and Wigan results, but hey, strange things can happen in this game. Hands off Wade in any case, whatever happens.
WelshClaret
I don't know whether Wade has struggled this season because its the Prem or because he has just struggled period! Either way if we go down, Elliott is exactly the sort of player I think we should try and retain in view of his record at Championship level
turfmanphil
The question that will perhaps be in Wade's mind is how he would fare in the PL as part of a team that tackles rather more. Time would be running out for him to show he can do better than this year, when he has had his moments and shown rather more bite than many of his colleagues. I hope he stays, and his Mum told me at the Emorates last year that he wnats to end his career at Burnley.
Couch Potato
I think he's been one of the players most affected by the Coyle affair, coupled with a loss of form which happens with all players. Opposing managers will also have noted his dazzling runs and instructed players to close him down, which they have been doing. The premiership takes a lot of adjusting to after the championship, but what better time for Wade to come into his own once again, than for the next 4 matches.

Wigan and notloB need to start scoring or we will be after them......nurse!
