Inspired by a suggestion from Cornwall Claret we ask our readers to send Vital Burnley their thoughts about our first season in the Premier League. We will publish these here. All we ask is that you write a few paragraphs about the 2009-10 season from your perspective in a Word Document and send it to the Editor by email to burnley@vitalfootball.co.uk

The Season So Far
As the season draws to a close I am wondering what the fans thoughts are. The euphoria of getting promoted to the Premier certainly carried on into the new season with lots of optimism and memorable matches and results. With entertaining football being provided even the decline in getting points did not seem to dampen the optimism, enthusiasm and a general feelgood attitude in and around the club.
Then the bombshell nobody expected, any club would have been greatly affected but the effect on our team, probably living on adrenaline, was understandably catastrophic and the result predictable. Now that we are reaching the end of the season and survival will be an incredible achievement I have formed my opinion and wonder who will agree with me,
I hope the majority will. It has been an amazing, rollercoaster of a ride and I am grateful to the board, the managers (yes! , even Susan, as he played his part) the players and the fans, because without all of them it would never have happened. I have supported the Clarets for well over 50 years and have come to accept that the joys of success are always accompanied by the heartache of failure, that is the lot of the football fan and has to be accepted by the true fan. Yes, whatever happens I think it has been a great experience and a memorable season. Would any fan, even the perpetual moaners, say that they would have preferred us to have stayed in the Championship?
