A Bit of News about Jay Rod & Foster at Barnsley

Clarets striker, Jay Rodriguez is heading back to Turf Moor after scoring just the once in six appearances during his month-long loan spell with Barnsley.

Barnsley gaffer, Mark Robins said:

'Jay will go back to Burnley and I have to thank (Burnley boss) Brian (Laws) for letting him come here.

'He will have benefited from some games and his goal.'

There is also more news from Barnsley about one of our former players, defender Stephen Foster.

Foster joined the Clarets from Crewe Alexandra on a free transfer following their demotion from the Championship at the end of the 2005-6 season. Signed by Steve Cotterill he never really established himself in the Clarets first team making just 17 appearances during 2006-7.

In August 2007 Foster was transferred to Barnsley for the sum of £100,000 signing a two year contract. The Tykes had been interested in him before and he soon became a fans favourite at Oakwell eventually becoming captain.

Foster, now 29 has made over 120 appearances for the Tykes.

The defender's contract was due to expire at the end of this season, but he has now agreed to stay at Oakwell until 2012 after signing a new contract.

Personally, I would play Jay Rodriguez now as well as some of the other fringe players! They are not tainted by the Coyle affair and will be wanting to make an impression. Most of our current lot look subdued, have lost confidence and seem error-prone & clueless!

Couldn't agree more Phil. After Saturdays performance there is so much I want to say, but I am holding back because a lot of it will be in the heat of the moment and while I am still angry and upset. I will apologise now if any heat of the moment stuff is written.
