Clarets International- McDonald & Easton Get Call

Clarets midfielder, Kevin McDonald and defender Brian Easton (currently out on loan to his former club Hamilton) have been included in the Scotland under-21 squad for the European Championship qualifier against Azerbaijan at the Falkirk Stadium on Tuesday 2 March.

The Scotland Under 21 side are currently second in the Group 10 table just one point behind Austria with a game in hand. They will be looking for a convincing victory against the bottom side.Azerbaijan Under 21 prop up the table with five defeats in five games plus a bad goal difference of minus 11 goals.

We play Arsenal four days later at the Emirates but McDonald should be OK for that providing he aint injured on the Tuesday night

Its all good experience. I think McDonald is close to being a good player and hope that he is listening to the advice and coaching he is getting at International level as well as at Gawthorpe. Easton may yet prove to be a Burnley squad member next season when BL runs the knife over the squad in the summer.

Interesting comment that Heathfield - I have been a little disapointed with Big Kev recently. I think I have perhaps been expecting to much from someone who is still only 21.

Can anyone explain why big Kev does not play as well when McCann is on the pitch, it baffles me but even last season I was remarking on it. It makes no sense to me other than is it like Gerrard and Lampard but only in turf speak?
