'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Britain's Got Grezza!

Brian Laws recently admitted he felt like Simon Cowell on the X-Factor in the final days of the January transfer window.

Laws said: "It`s been an incredible few days, particularly because we`ve got to try to do the business diligently and quickly.

"It`s been like a revolving door - players coming in, coming out, having a chat. Next!

"But I`ve been giving them a little bit more time than Simon Cowell would have'

So that was X-Factor now we have a Burnley link to Britain's Got Talent with news today that Graham Alexander has won a Piers Morgan award based on a special poll in his newspaper

Over 200,000 fans across Britain voted for their 'Morgan on Sport British Football Personality of the Year'

Grezza is the oldest outfield player in the Premier League and polled 167,000 votes pushing Craig Bellamy and Ryan Giggs into a poor second and third place!

He picked up his award at the Hammersmith Apollo before the match with Fulham last Tuesday night and his silver trophy was presented by Piers Morgan in the presence of the other 'Britain's Got Talent' judges, Simon Cowell and Amanda Holden.

Folowing a special interview with the 38 year old midfielder for his Mail on Sunday column, Gooners fan, Morgan said:

'It was a fascinating interview with the man who has seen his beloved game change beyond all recognition.

'And his humility, common sense, intelligence, humour and obvious dedication showed me exactly why he is so admired and respected that 167,000 votes were cast for him to win the award'

'I was flattered that so many people voted for me in the poll, said Grezza about the honour

'I'd also like to thank Piers and the Britain's Got Talent team for laying on a presentation ceremony.

'It was great to meet them all, even though my kids were jealous as hell!

'I had to promise I'd try to get them tickets for the Britain's Got Talent final to restore peace in the Alexander household!'

You can read more about this and see some photos of Grezza receiving his award on the Official Site where there is also a link to the exclusive interview for the paper.

Cheered me up this morning that! We have some special fans but just wonder how many voted for Grezza who were not Clarets fans?

I have just read the article on the mail website - Very interesting.949 games - If he can keep himself in shape for one more season - he will probably not be far short of 1000 pro games at the end of 2010/11.
