Rumour Mill-Clarets Hall of Plenty, Fitz!

A report in the Mirror by the now infamous reporter, Alan Nixon suggests the Clarets could be interested in bringing QPR centre half, Fitz Hall to Turf Moor.

The 29 year old defender signed a four and a half year contract with QPR in the 2008 January transfer window for an undisclosed fee after leaving Wigan Athletic.

QPR are understood to be desperate to cut their wage bill in a cost-cutting exercise with Hall being one player they could be willing to offload.

Hall has been cleared to speak to both Newcastle United and Burnley about a possible move with just five days left of the January window. A fee of about £750,000 could be the asking price.

It is difficult to believe this rumour is true with news today that we have just signed central defender, Leon Cort. We already have a surplus of central defenders on our books with Carlisle, Caldwell, Duff, Edgar and youngster, Kevin Long all competing for a place.

If he does arrive, he would be considered very much as a squad player according to Nixon who suggests that Newcastle could be favourites to sign him.

The London-born defender started his career at West Ham but was released at the age of 15.

He got a trial at Barnet and joined them for a while before playing for non-league Chesham United.

His big break came when Oldham Athletic, signed him for £30,000 during the 2001/02, season.

A move to then Premier League side, Southampton followed in 2003 after signing for £250,000 but he was unable to get a regular place in their first team and joined Crystal Palace at the beginning of the 2004-05 season for £1.5m.

Hall then moved from Palace to Wigan Athletic for an undisclosed fee on 26 June 2006 before joining QPR.

Claretdale
well keep jordan then if he wants to stay
Albmaleaf claret
He appears to be a below par player . He may be good for the Championship but not for the Premier League .
