Sky Sports to Cover Rovers Clash in Fixture Change

The big derby against Blackburn Rovers at Turf Moor will now be played on Sunday 28th March and will kick-off early at 12 noon. The fixture change is due to Sky Sports who now wish to televise the match live.

The match was originally scheduled for a normal kick-off time of 3pm on Saturday 27th March.

The current bragging rights in East Lancashire rest with Rovers fans after they defeated us 3-2 earlier in the season at Ewood Park. That was also a Sky Sports televised game so there is now a chance for Burnley to get revenge in front of the football watching nation.

Hopefully this announcement has come earlier enough for all fans to accommodate the changes without too much hassle

I bet the police and pubs are happy about a 12 noon kick-off! Can't say I am surprised

Who would we like to stuff most Rovers or Coyles new love Bolton?
Grimsby Claret
Thought this fixture would be changed, thank god I thought in advance and booked some extra time off work, as I should be working then. In answer to your question GC, thrash Bolton and a nice 1-0 win over Rovers and I will be very happy.
sheclaret
Forgot to ask and what time will they be setting off from Deadwood? Hope they get the same treatment we did.
sheclaret
I too had planned for it to be on the Sunday. I hope they treat this game just the same as they did for our away day fun. Would be happy to see them not selling all their tickets and of course a Clarets win.
VinRogue
Yeah we are getting the same treatment, I live in Burnley and ive been told I have to make my way to Blackburn before the game to travel back to Burnley to watch the match, to travel back to Blackburn, to get the bus back to Duke bar!
LHrover
That's crazy LH - but at least it shows a consistent approach which is fair to both sets of fans. But it is still ludicrous that ordinary fans are put to such an inconvenience because of one or two idiots who only ever cause trouble when the police are nearby to save them if it turns really nasty. No surprise this has been changed and looks like sensible fans like VR, Sheclaret have plans in place.
RickersTwickers
Fair enough, there has been a history of violence between the clubs, but its only the few who spoil it for the majority, I live in Duke bar and regularly wear my rovers shirt, yeah I get some banter but thats it, so why should it be different on match day?
LHrover
I always thought this was going to be changed to a lunchtime KO - No complaints really.
