Nimani Confirmed

It has just beem announced that Burnley have completed a five month loan deal for 21 year old, AS Monaco striker, Frédéric Nimani with a view to a possible permanent deal in the summer. The move is subject to international clearance.

The player becomes Brian Laws first signing for the club since becoming the Clarets new manager just over a week ago.

The France Under 21 International had been unsettled at AS Monaco

Nemani found opportunities limited at AS Monaco (his only professional club to date) having scored 8 times in just 37 appearances since 2006. During his time at the Ligue 1 club he has also been loaned out twice, first to FC Lorient in 2007 and then to Ligue 2 outfit Sedan in January 2008.

A number of clubs were thought to be interested in Nimani including Birmingham and Owen Coyle's Bolton.

Our interest appears to have started under our former manager and it looks like at least in this case Coyle has been unable to poach one of our targets if the Bolton link was indeed true.Nimani is expected to go straight into the squad for next week's Premier League game with Bolton.

A warm 'subject to international clearance' welcome, mon ami Frederic, though I thought the whole point of the EU was being able to work in different countries without loads of hassle. TMP, how do you get those accents over the es? Type out first in a Word file, then cut and paste?
Couch Potato

Sorry lads to get serious, but does anyone know how long this clearance is going to take? As CP said I thought now we are in the EU, it would be a lot easier. Although I suppose the bureaucrats have to be involved somehow.

It looks like he could be available for Tuesday nights adventure to a bigger, better payed and a huge step up from Burnley football clubs match with the HUGE club notlob. I hope he plays and you know I want him to get a hat trick, I would even buy garlic for my bread if he scored...

The Monaco supporters are less than complimentary about him, and think €4 million would be a lot... time will tell, I suppose?! Bienvenue, Fred!
