Trio Return in Hull of a Reserve Match

New Burnley manager,Brian Laws will get a close look at three more of his squad tonight following news that Paterson,McCann and Rodriguez are all fit to play after recovering from long-term injuries.

They will play tonight(Tuesday)in a reserves match away against Hull City which is further good news as the new manager prepares to try and keep Burnley in the top flight. The game will be played at the North Ferriby FC ground (Kick-off 7pm)

Jat Rodriguez broke his ankle in the home reserves encounter between these two teams back in September completing a miserable month for the Clarets who also lost Martin Paterson and Chris McCann.

Paterson picked up a torn cartilage in our Carling Cup defeat against Barnsley at Oakwell. In the previous game against Sunderland at Turf Moor, Chris McCann damaged both his cruciate and medial ligaments but has since made a miraculous recovery after fears he could be out for the rest of the season.

Brian Laws will also take the opportunity to field a strong team tonight in order to take a closer look at some of his fringe players and get familiar with their talent and style of play.

The starting eleven is expected to include Penny, Eckersley, Easton, Gudjonsson, Guerrero and Blake in addition to the returning stars.

This couldn't have come at a better time really. Well done lads! Place your bets for Pato and McCann to play against Reading and/or Bolton?

Pretty sure North Ferriby United play in the Unibond Premier. Looks quite a strong team tonight as TMP has pointed out. Looks like BL is having a good look at as many players as he can.

Laptop playing up may have to buy a proper PC thingy! No network connection today what ever that means! Could have gone to Ferriby too. Its just 50 minutes away. I hope Penny plays well and gets a game on Saturday too.

A full game on Saturday or on subs bench?

1-1 Result tonight but good news was that Paterson got our goal after just 10 mins. Sounds like all three had good comeback games

Do we know how long they each managed to get under their belts?

Excellent news , they've been out so long it'll be like 3 new signings, but I doubt they'll be ready for the first team for a while. McCann in particular will be a welcome addition to the defence and lets hope Paterson comes back firing on all cylinders. Anyone know what's happening with Nugent?

CD, you've probably read Bfc site... McCann 70 mins, 90 each for JayRod and Pato. Slight downside: it was another game we deserved more from.

I am so glad its Reading and not Liverpool, he will be able to select a team and subs that can include the above players without it being a backward step. Could make the team selection a bit of a headache for the notlob game, but maybe doing something different against them might be the answer?

Reading won't be easy either but might give Laws a bit more flexibility to use players like Paterson, Thommo and young Ferrero Rocher. Game against Bolton must surely be a priority - though a run in the FA Cup would be splendid.

I think Pato for Saturday. He needs to sharpen himself before a run in the league. I don't really care about a run in the cup this year - I want to be a premier league team next year - however we get to do it.

In the unlikely event of us getting to Wembley H/C I'll have your ticket. As I said, Premier League survival is no 1 priority but there is nothing like a cup run to get a bit of feeling running through the club and fans.
