Laws Backroom Takes Shape as Owls Fly In

Brian Laws has returned to his former club Sheffield Wednesday to recruit more backroom staff, snapping up Tom Little, Tim Henderson and Billy Mercer.

Sheffield Wednesday have confirmed the trio were leaving the club after a deal was agreed with Burnley.

It is expected that will have similar roles at Turf Moor as they had at Hillsborough but this is still to be confirmed

Little worked as the club's sports scientist, Henderson as head of recruitment and Mercer as goalkeeping coach

What the hell is head of recruitment? Chief Scout with bells on?

I would suggest something possibly a bit different... As we 'let go' of the Chief Scout lately, it may just be the same job with a new name. But maybe the head of recruitment will also be a principal point of contact for agents and others involved in contracts. This could perhaps let Laws focus a bit more on football. Also, given that Coyle seems to have regarded ny messages on his mobile as his personal proerty rather than the club's property, maybe there would be a benefit in some separation of roles?
