Grimsby for Fletcher, Wes That Is!

Young 18 year old striker, Wes Fletcher has joined Grimsby Town on loan for an initial one month period.

He will go straight into the team to face Cheltenham at home tomorrow.(Saturday 16th Jan)

Wes Fletcher was originally on Liverpool's books and was spotted playing for Lancashire County joining Burnley in the summer of 2007.

The Ormskirk born striker was a prolific scorer for the youth and reserve teams last season with 40 goals and for his efforts was named Youth Team Player of the Year.

Fletcher was one of the Clarets young guns offered professional terms in the close season signing a contract in March 2009.

He would not have beeen expected to feature in the first team squad this season so this loan spell will be excellent for his development.
