Club to hold News Conference at 3:30 pm Today

Sky Sports have announced Burnley will hold a News conference at 3:30 pm today when they are expected to unveil Brian Laws as their new manager.

Doncaster Rovers have also confirmed that manager Sean O'Driscoll will now be staying with the Championship club.

O'Driscoll was the favourite yesterday for the Burnley job in a two horse race with Laws but it is understood talks stalled over reaching a compensation agreement.

There is now a statement on Doncaster Rover's Official Website which reads:

"Doncaster Rovers are pleased to announce that Sean O'Driscoll is to remain at the Keepmoat Stadium.Doncaster Rovers can confirm that enquiries were made by a Premier League club; however these enquiries are now at an end"

Two and a half year deal for Laws.
will it ever happen
Damn will miss it have to be at work for 2 and will be in a meeting till about 4. At least the 2-10 shift is quiet (fingers crossed) and will catch up on Vital later.

Brian must be buzzing nobody else had come in for him. I Think he will do ok. If he keeps us up he will win all the fans over.

He will also win the fans over when we beat Bolton in a couple of weeks

What will Kilby and Flood say? Maybe that Laws\was always the first choice, despite speculation. That, with previous backroom staff and Alexander as player/coach, they fully expect Laws to ensure Burnley's survival this year. Doubt if they mention that Eagles and Mears might not stay or how Caldwell might feel about not being part of the managerial set-up, although was part of the Dobson set-up!

Alexander though does have his coaching badges, dont think Caldwell has yet does he?
turfmanphil
Caldwell's brother just moved down the road to Wigan!

Caldwell is is a long way of retirement yet. I think it is likely this will be Alexander's final season and so a coaching role is more appropriate for him. As somebody else has said (I'm sorry I can't remember who) Laws was very tenacious in fending off our interest in Tudgay so lets hope he is equally steadfast in repelling any approaches for our players.

Good point that CC2. by the way forgot to say News conference by club will be televised on Sky Sports
