More Rats Leave Sinking Ship-Davis&Hughes

Both Steve Davis and Phil Hughes have decided to leave Turf Moor and follow Coyle to Bolton. Thanks a bunch!

The statement on the Official Burnley FC site reads:

"Burnley Football Club can today (Sunday) confirm that first team Coach Steve Davis and Goalkeeping Coach Phil Hughes have left Turf Moor. They are expected to follow Sandy Stewart and John Henry in joining Owen Coyle's new management team at Bolton Wanderers"

This is yet another bitter body blow to Clarets fans already reeling over the loss of 'God' turned to 'Sod', Owen Coyle. It will be particularly difficult to accept the loss of Steve Davis, someone who Clarets fans thought would be loyal with Burnley blood flowing through his veins.

It looks like those veins now have a big blood clot in them!

Oh well sod them all, lets bring in a much better management team and move forward. They all deserve each other at Bolton!

Agree with She - The loss of Davis indicates to me that their may be something behind the scenes we do not know about. I thought he was claret through and through.

Yes,so am I and the rumours I am hearing suggest there is a mega-rift between Flood & Kilby that has caused all this mess. I hope the rumours are wrong,no doubt Nixon will tell us before anybody at the club does! Very angry and god knows what this will do for our players morale and motivation. [Edited by turfmanphil]

Money pure & simple and a club willing to go into mega-debt to achieve survival compared to one that isn't. If there was any justice in this world Bolton would sink without trace into the Championship
