Stoke Match is Off

Burnley FC have officially announced that the match against Stoke City has been postponed due to the adverse weather conditions.

The ground with undersoil heating would not appear to be the problem and the pitch sounded playable.

There were however significant concerns for the safety of fans heading to and from the ground, with snow and compacted ice affecting many areas.

Really glad about this to be honest, time to reflect and recover from the Coyle saga. We might have a new manager by time of next game which is potentially the baptism of fire against Man U next Saturday

I am delighted also - Didnt fancy the journey to the game, but wouldnt have been able to sit at home and miss it. Bit of a pain to get to the Turf on a midweek night, but I am sure I will manage it! :-)

If Leeds can win at Man Utd whose to say we can't quick let's sign Beckford ;-)

I'm a bit naffed off for 2 reasons. 1. I think it would be a great time to show our support to both board and team. 2. I booked the weekend off work and is to late to take back also it will likely be replayed midweek when I am on a late shift. boo hoo

Very happy, we are quite a vocal mob for an evening game, remember United at home. I think an evening game may just be to our advantage against Stoke plus the new manager will have all his new signings ready by then..........tic

Mixed feelings.

I'm quite pleased, as it gives time for the whole club to regroup and get over this, move on, and show that "WE ARE BURNLEY, SUPER BURNLEY!"

Yep,same here Barnsey. I don't think with all this fuss and the weather they have been able to train very well this week either and 3 points against Stoke would have been vital had this game gone ahead with no room for overactive sulking minds or lack of peak fitness

Not a massive surprise this given the weather earlier in the week and gives us a bit of time to regroup after a traumatic seven days. Time to move forward, not back and sensible words from Grezza on Sky earlier on. Incidentally, it is the first time this season that I have predicted the correct outcome of a match even though it was only a P-P !! Though Phil has disallowed that - and I was going to put his name forward as our new manager too !!

Manager? I would be quite happy being a fly on the wall. Give me a right BUZZ that! Ill get my coat

I am actually pleased for purely selfish reasons, for various reasons I couldn't book Sat off work so now I proabably get to see this game in a midweek match wohoo! I work in Leeds lets not sign Beckford he's naff!

I am hoping that the Man U game gets postponed too, that might give me a chance to get a ticket if a lot cant make it in midweek to the re-arranged fixture! ;-)
