Merry Christmas from Vital Burnley

Merry Christmas from Vital Burnley

Vital Burnley wishes all our readers and posters, a very Merry Christmas and hopes you all have a great time over the festive season.

Let's hope just for once that the Clarets can break their Christmas jinx and have some success for a change over this vital period in our first season in the Premier League.

The Clarets currently have 19 points with just under half of the games played. Our target should be about 36-38 points by the end of the season to have a good chance of survival. In the past six seasons only two out of 18 clubs clubs have been relegated with more than 35 points.

A win against Bolton at home on Boxing Day and hopefully something at Goodison Park against Everton two days later will allow us to break through the 20 points mark setting us up nicely for the second-half campaign in the New Year.

The best Christmas present Clarets fans could have would be another six points before the New Year

Come on you Clarets!

Merry Christmas to you too, tmp, and to everyone else on Vital. I am visting my sister's family in Belper, then my parents in Macclesfield, and will probably be away from computers for a week. My experiment on living without a car lacked a Plan B for getting to the Turf on a (Boxing) day with no public transport. But I'll be at Goodison. Whatever happens this is my best Christmas for years. Thank you Barry Kilby and everyone at the club.

Christmas in Whalley with family for me including getting stuck in to Christmas dinner with Ansdell Claret at the helm in the kitchen. Just analysed my attendance at games this season which reads - attended 6, won 0, drawn 0, lost 6, goals for 3, goals against 19, points 0. Will be there against Bolton and then at MK Dons so hope my record improves soon. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all at Vital Burnley.
