'If It's Football, It's Vital'

It is the FA Cup, It is MK Dons

The draw for the third round proper of the FA Cup sponsored by E.ON was made today on ITV with all Premier League and Championship clubs now in the hat.

Burnley will face Milton Keynes Dons at the stadium:mk on either Saturday 2nd or Sunday 3rd January 2010

This is the first time we will have played the League One side, the club of course contoversially having their roots in Wimbledon FC. The club moved to Milton Keynes in September 2003 and 9 months later changing their name to MK Dons. Originally they played at the National Hockey Stadium before moving to the club's new 22,000 seater, stadium:mk in Denbigh in July 2007

One bit of good news already concerns the recent announcement from Andre Bikey that he will be delaying his departure to the Africa Cup of Nations competition until after the league game at Everton on the 28th December and the FA Cup third round clash on the 2nd or 3rd January.

Bikey said recently:

"The Cameroon manager is going to give us the maximum time to be at the club. The Africa cup starts on the 10th (January) but I think we are going to get dispensation for 4 or 5 days'

How quick did you put this article up! Ticket permitting - Its a new ground for me!
Claretdale
Same here and pretty local, definitely going to this one! I had article prepared before the draw, just had to slot in the team and venue when we were pulled out the hat
turfmanphil
Releasing your secrets there Phil!
Claretdale
Hardly rocket science is it!! lol ;-)
turfmanphil
Well - Thats me told! :-)
Claretdale
Mind you I even beat the Official site!! :-)
turfmanphil
Quite fancy this one though I think I might have to sacrifice attempts to get a ticket for the Everton game as a result.
RickersTwickers
It may give some of the fringe players an opportunity to have a game.
grimsby claret
Do you think that is what Owen will do Grimsby? Or do you think he will go at full strength? I think we may use the game to give Pato and Mccann a start if they are nearing full fitness.
Claretdale
You could be right Dale, a mixture of the big names returning from injury, some of the ones on the margins and I suspect some current first team eleven on the bench just in case! Just looking round some of the other forums, On another issue I do think it is time now for some to grow up and come to accept MK Dons now as a team that is no longer Wimbledon. It's happened and years ago now so get over it and stop being so childish!
turfmanphil
TMP in the form of his life. Bfc doing amazingly well. Fans as ever, striving to drive them on.
Couch Potato
Not sure about the first bit but I like the sound of the last two points! ;-)
turfmanphil
Whoever plays this will be a good opportunity to give Paul Ince some good natured banter !
RickersTwickers
I have to admit that I still think it is pretty shocking that Wimbledon was allowed to change to MK Dons - But, as you say, this was many years ago. In any case, I am not going to watch MK - I am going to support Burnley.
Claretdale
Yeah, but some folk are saying they are not going to go in protest, childish and why cut off your nose to spite your face just for a principle which will have bugger all effect?
turfmanphil
Where is MK? Can't find it in my 1930s road atlas!
Couch Potato
I say give some of the fringe players a game including Penny but have a very strong bench.
Grimsby Claret
SEE YOU IN THE DRAW FOR ROUND FOUR LADS!
