Rumour Mill-In the Weiss Squad?

Vladimír Weiss, the Manchester City 19 year old midfielder has today been linked with a possible loan move to Turf Moor. Stoke City are also believed to be interested.

The Slovakian international, who will be 20 later this month has struggled for opportunities in the City first team this season being an unused substitute and only tasting action in the Carling Cup games.

He made his debut for City against Bolton at the end of last season, coming on from the bench. Weiss completed his first 90 minutes in Manchester City's 1-0 victory against FC Barcelona in front of 94,000 fans at the Camp Nou, in the Joan Gamper Trophy

Born in Bratislava he made his international debut for Slovakia earlier this year back in August in a friendly against Iceland, a game that finished 1-1. His father incidentally, who has the same name is the Slovakian head coach.

Weiss is highly rated and still seems to be firmly in Mark Hughes plans. It is understood Hughes wants to send the attacking midfielder and right winger out on loan to give him first team experience with a top flight club.

You have never seen anyone better at that age, including Jimmy McIlroy. The kid is genius. The second half against barcelona had their fans asking "Who the hell is that?" You tube him, sit back and admire.

The only thing I would say is that we have 2 right wingers in our squad already - do we need a 3rd? I know a squad is needed but I would imagine a loan player needs to be one who is pushing for the first team at the very least - Not sure we would drop Eagles for him?
Claretdale
Well I think he also plays as an attacking midfielder, not necessarily out on the wing. The Citeh boys certainly seem to rate him

This bloke is an absolute cracker. If you get your hands on him, even until the end of the season you lot will be memorised by his skill and speed. This boy is going all the way - trust me.
Tudor
Yep,seen some 'You Tube' footage of him now and he does look impressive. There's a link in our Backchat Burnley forum from 8C8 [Edited by turfmanphil]
