Colin on Grezza!

Crystal Palace manager, Neil Warnock (known as Colin ****** to some)has a regular column in the Saturday Independent. Last weekend the former Sheffield United gaffer was praising our own Graham Alexander after reading he had played more than 900 games in his professional career, including 100 league games for the Clarets.

He wrote:

'What a fantastic achievement, amazing for an outfielder. When he had played about 600 I thought about signing him but I watched him and thought his legs had gone. Three hundred games later he's 38, still playing and doing so in the Premier League. He's been an absolute credit and I couldn't be more delighted for him. He's a super example for any footballer. I used to hate it, when his team got a penalty. I knew we'd never save it!'

Just goes to show our Colin wasn't always right although had Alexander been a striker?

I do actually enjoy NW's column, he seems to have been very complimentary about our club, manager and players over the last few seasons.

Yes those legs ran all the way to the Premier league! I wish we had signed him on 600 games too!

TMP thats because Stan isn't our manager anymore it was public knowledge that they didn't get on lol.
ruane
Aye but the fans still rollocked him way after Stan left, so surprised he has been so complimentary
turfmanphil
What ever he says or writes sadly he will always be Colin to me, in the words of Keegan I Love it when he loses the plot or something like that!

I remember Alexander when he played for my local team, Luton, always rated him!

I am a bit confused about the 900th game. Didnt he play a landmark game at Coventry last season?
Claretdale
Right I have sorted it I think. Grezza made his 700th full league start against Coventry in Oct 2008 but made his 900th career appearance for club&country against Spurs at the Lane in Jan 09

Still don't like NW. Such a kind face, the kind I'd love to give a good slap lol!
sheclaret
Naw he's OK, warmed to him over the last few seasons
turfmanphil
He's quite a nice chap with a great sense of humour....unless he is on a touchline. I remember seeing him get very worked up at a game against Brentford many years ago and ending up with a severe finger wagging at the hands of the local constabulary.

I'm with sheclaret on this one I love to see him losing who ever he is in charge of.

Aw go easy on Palace, they haven't had the easiest ride this season, and NW is always a good sport (not really but he's better than most).
