Everton cant Buy Eagles for Toffee

There was more speculation over the weekend that David Moyes could renew his interest in signing Clarets winger, Chris Eagles.

Reports suggested Everton could be considering a bid for the player in the January window.

The People believe Eagles is currenly being paid just £8000/week and that Everton could easily improve that salary with a view to enticing the former Manchester United player to change clubs.

Eagles is now probably worth about £4 million so Everton would have to virtually double the amount the Clarets paid United for his services.

Premier League Pledge Update: Friday, October 30

The following press release was issued by the club and sent to Vital Burnley and we gladly pass on the information to our posters.

Burnley Football Club would like to thank supporters for their continued patience.

The manual processing of over 7,000 supporters applications, along with the options available, has taken longer than anticipated.

However, we can now confirm that all supporters (not Premium Credit) who requested refunds will begin receiving cheques via post next week.

The first batch of cheques covers supporters with surnames A - P inclusive.

The ticket office continues to process the remaining couple of thousand applications and further information on these will be announced next week.

Finally, there are still a number of supporters who have not yet sent back their requests for refunds.

We respectfully ask that anyone who has not yet returned their form do so as soon as possible.

Supporters with Premium Credit agreements are currently having their agreements cancelled by the club and Premium Credit will send refunds accordingly.

Thank you for your valuable support

£4m for Eagles sounds about right when you consider how many PL games he actually starts! Besides, did you know he used to be a paperboy in Hemel Hempstead and delivered my mates paper!

This year & last I had to do mine on premium credit, they have already stopped taking payments and I received the money I had already paid about 10 days ago. So premium credit are pretty on the ball with repaying money back.

Is the Prem Pledge turning out a bit more complicated to administer than expected? I am not a part of it, but remain a hardcore fan of Barry Kilby. I am also someone who thinks Eagles is worth more than £4m to a stuttering team like Everton. I hope he sticks around, but wouldn't bust my wage structure to keep him, as well as he has played lately, and as much I will always say he will 'always be a Claret'.

Is there a sell on clause meaning man u could cream off some of our profits from Eagles,? if so we need to add a million. In anycase I agree with CP Eagles is worth more than 4 million. How many years is left on his contract.?

I hope its untrue, we could do without the conjecture just when he's finally started to start playing a bit.
