Just theTicket- Rovers & The Deadwood Stage

Burnley FC has received 2880 tickets for the Barclays Premier League game against Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park on Sunday, October 18(1pm kick-off).

Fierce local rivalry has already dictated the safety precautions for this derby game with Clarets fans wishing to travel to this match only being able to do so in special coaches provided by Burnley FC or Supporters Clubs. Independent travel will not be permitted and tickets purchased for this game will only be provided with coach travel costs included.

Tickets (including a 5 charge for compulsory coach travel from Turf Moor) will cost as follows:

Adults: 40
Over 65's: 30
Under 16's: 20

Only those Clarets fans with 2000 Loyalty Points or more will be able to order tickets and they will be able to do so only by Postal Application from Thursday 24th September

These postal applications must include your Clarets Number, your name and address, a cheque (not cash) for the correct amount and a stamped self-addressed envelope.

Note also that all sales will be strictly on a one supporter, one ticket basis.

Foundation members have also been given their usual allocation of 100 tickets and members can apply for tickets by telephone only (01282 700023)from 9.15am on Wednesday 30th September

Further Coach Details

This is reproduced from the Official Site:

All travelling supporters must use an authorised coach, departing from Turf Moor from 9.15am.This includes supporters' club coaches, which must make their way to the rendezvous point at the ground.
Special arrangements are in place for disabled supporters.

All persons purchasing a ticket from Burnley Football club will pay a subsidised charge of 5 towards the coach travel. This will be added to all ticket prices, via postal applications only, as advised.

Supporters' Clubs are allocated with limited number of tickets and will supply coaches for the allocated number only.

Lancashire Police advise that supporters are dropped off wherever possible, rather than parking on adjacent streets.

Coaches will leave for Ewood Park in convoy to ensure the safe arrival of all spectators in time for kick off.

Blackburn Rovers Football Club will open the ground in good time for the game, with catering facilities made available for early arrivals.

Lancashire Police will operate cordons around Ewood Park and refuse entry to any Burnley supporters. The only way to travel to this game is therefore by authorised coach.

Well some fans might still think this is overkill and an over-reaction but I guess at the end of the day, if we get to see the match that's all that matters!

At least we can now have a sing-song on the coaches and what better song than that Doris Day Classic, The Deadwood Stage

The Deadwood Stage

Oh! The Deadwood Stage is a-rollin' on over the plains

With the curtains flappin' and the driver slappin' the reins.

Beautiful sky! A wonderful day!

Whip crack-away!, Whip crack-away!, Whip crack-away!

Oh! The Deadwood Stage is a-headin' on over the hills,

Where the Rovers arrows are thicker than porcupine quills.

Dangerous land! No time to delay!

So, Whip crack-away!, Whip crack-away!, Whip crack-away!

Why are we leaving from the Turf at 9.15??? Wont that mean we are at the ground for about 10???
Claretdale
Good point, might need to clarify that. Wonder if its a typo, 9:15am is when Ticket Office normally opens
turfmanphil
Please all read and assist Predicament in forum. I need help!!!
sheclaret
ref 9:15 leaving turf moor not a typo need to leave so early as oaches will leave in groups of 5-10 approx 35-40 coaches, each group will have a police escort front and back all coaches will then be there for 11:30, they may be checked by police for alcohol. The whole area arounf Ewood will then be cornered off and we will be locked in!!
sheclaret
excuse all my typos
sheclaret
It doesnt seem right that we will be at the ground for that long - what would we do!
Claretdale
Bring a few tinnies and get rat arsed since they probably wont allow booze on the coach?
turfmanphil
In fairness we prob wont set off till about 10:00-10:30. Just make sure you are on one of the last coaches to leave
sheclaret
Just want to get there, haven't got tickets yet. Sweating on this one, just hope the trusty Foundation dont let me down
turfmanphil
I wish those of you going to this one good luck. As a youth I remember going to that place many times and whilst there was always trouble I managed to steer clear. Frankly, the thought of leaving TM at 9.15am for a 1pm kick off 10 miles down the road is a joke. I understand that fans have to be safe but if that's what real, genuine fans need to do because of a few idiots ( on both sides ) I'll give it a miss and watch it on the telly.
RickersTwickers
agree Rickers - it is a little sad that this is the way it needs to be done. Cant really blame the relevant authorities though - safety first i suppose! It is not always those causing the trouble that end up getting hurt!
Claretdale
why we only got so little tickets 2880 we would take more than that any day
crazyclaret
I think there has been some sour grapes from Rovers. They didn't like our encroachment now in the Cricket Field Stand because of demand for tickets. So because their lot would only get fewer tickets in the Turf Moor return they decided to give us a similar number for Deadwood, even though you can get 7000 away fans in there with the rest of the ground looking emoty!!
turfmanphil
Are the rovers fans going to be above us in the upper tier?
