Clarets International-Grezza & Fletch Start

Scotland play FYR Macedonia today(Saturday,5th September)at Hampden Park in a crucial World Cup 2010 Group 9 Qualifying match.(3pm KO)

Steven Caldwell, originally named in George Burley's squad withdrew due to a groin injury after seeing the Scotland medical team on Monday this week but both Graham Alexander and Steven Fletcher were also called-up and have now been named in the starting eleven.

Alexander will once more play in the holding midfield role.

After Scotland's 4-0 defeat to Norway in Oslo last month, James McFadden and Steven Fletcher replace Kris Commons and the injured Ross McCormack in attack. The pair will support Miller up front.

The full starting eleven(4-3-3)will be as follows:

Gordon, Hutton, Davidson, Weir, McManus, Alexander, Brown, D. Fletcher, McFadden, Miller, S Fletcher.

Looks like I have two options now, sit in my brand new car and fathom out what all the electronic knobs and dials do (looks more like an airplane cockpit) or watch Scotland. maybe I can get the game in the car????? lol ;-)

By the way if you didn't know match is on Sky Sports 1 from 2;30

Hope they dont get injured. It would be Nice to see Fletcher Score.

Which channel is the match on?
BarnseyWTBM
Sky Sports 1 (says above) but you are not missing much! 0-0 half-time and Macedonia are looking the most likely to score. Fletcher seeing quite a bit of the ball but never in a goal-scoring position

Much better second half for Scotland as they triumph 2-0 in the end. Great assist from Fletch to set up their first goa.Steven Fletcher crossed from the left to find Scott Brown and his glanced header found the far corner . Fletcher though was then subbed after 67 minutes (tactical not injured). Alexander put in a solid performance without being spectacular and played the whole match.

New car? Vital must be doing better than I thought, tmp! :) Did anyone see the NI game on BBC red button? I half-watched the second half. Saw Paterson get into a great position running on to a through ball and put it wide, and then listened to NI commentators talk about how they missed Lafferty after he was injured and, it wasn't Pato's fault, but if he had scored they would have won. I have had a cold for a few days, so may sound a bit unenthusiastic. But it sounds like both our front men failed to show the cutting edge in front of goal. Hopefully they are saving it up for their midwek games... and then Anfield. But maybe we'll start with Thomo and that new gent?
Couch Potato
Kyle Lafferty gave Northern Ireland the lead in Poland. He was replaced by Martin Paterson during the second half and Pato missed a good chance to make the score 2-0 before the Poles grabbed a late equaliser Pato is missing lots of chances at the moment Like Rooney for England.
Grimsby Claret
Pato indeed seems to be getting in the bad habit of missing these days, hope it's just a phase he's going through! I actually would start Thommo ahead of him at the moment and play 4-3-3 with Thommo,Nugent, Fletcher upfront
