Just the Stoke Ticket for 2000 Loyalty Points !

Tickets for the Clarets first Premier League game in their history against Stoke City at the Britannia Ground will go on sale on Tuesday morning (4th August 2009) but only to holders of 2,000 Clarets loyalty points or more.

Due to the lateness of Stoke advising the club on their ticket situation, special contingencies are being made for this game.

Ticket sales will commence in person at the ticket office, or by post, quoting Stoke Away on the envelope.

Postal applications will have to state your Clarets Number, your name and address and contain a cheque (not cash) for the correct amount plus a stamped, self-addressed envelope.

A limited number of tickets will also be made available for Foundation members and shareholders on a first come first served basis.

Supporters with 1,000 loyalty points or more are invited to purchase tickets at the ticket office only from Monday 10th August if tickets are still available.

If there are still tickets available at close of business on Thursday, August 13th, the remaining tickets will go on sale to any season ticket holder from the ticket office on Friday, August 14th.

Prices are: Adults 25; Over 65s 19; Under 17s 15; Under 11s 12.

All sales will be strictly on a one supporter, one ticket basis.

Oh lord if its 2000 even for Stoke City, I doubt if I will see one away match this season, not very happy at all! [Edited by turfmanphil]

Going to be very difficult getting tickets indeed - but i think its the only fair way they can do it really!

I get the feeling this game was 2,000 points as its so late in the day, thanks to stoke, and its the First PL game. I hope it will get easier. I'm still waiting for my password to check my points!

I dont think it will get any easier skutter. Apparently we have 4000 people who have got 2000 points or more and i dont think we are due many allocations of over 3000 ( other than B*stards) - it could be a season long battle.

..and if you are waiting for your Online Tickets password you'd be better off either sending an e-mail direct to the club or phoning the ticket office direct and quoting your Clarets Number.

I suppose not all 4000 with 2000 plus Loyalty Points will want to go to all the away league games but no doubt the Big Four will be a sell-out before lesser mortals have a chance to scrabble for any tickets remaining! Its just a lottery full of uncertainty but at least it keeps you on your toes! I reckon I have somewhere between 1000-1500 so not enough but do need to find out exactly!

It may be the Lancs games more than the Big4 that the 2000-plus-pointers will be drawn to? By the way, tmp, there was a subtle difference in wording on the Bfc site and your story about availability for Foundation Members. You wrote 'will be available'. The Bfc site on Monday said 'are available'. So, being a publisher who worries about such things, I phoned the Lottery Office on Monday morning, got a ticket, and passed on the word. I think I have been a Fndn Member for at least 4 years. (Been in the Lounge once: won a mug in the draw, presented to me by Andy Farrell. :) ) Pleased to have been making the monthly contribution to the club. Happy to have - if you look at it purely in personal financial terms - paid what is effectively about 400 for my Stoke ticket! :) But sad for loyal away fans of recent years and decades who aren't going to be able to be there. :( It doesn't feel just, but I I am still going to enjoy the game - que sera - and sing and shout. Come on Burnley!

There is a sort of everyman for himself in this to be honest, the system forces you to be ruthless and selfish but dont let anyone try and convince you they wouldn't be the same given the choice! I assumed incorrectly in my article that ordering tickets would all begin on the same day by whatever method. You live&learn

If you have tickets then good luck to you. Will be a bit of a scramble this year but sure things will tail off come September / October.

I guess there is a novelty factor here and everybody will want tickets to begin with. If results start going tits up though the rest of us might have an easier chance to get tickets but I wouldn't wish that on the club of course!

Me neither...but I think everyone understands your point. Called the Foundation this morning intending to thank them for my free pen. Asked whether any Stoke tickets were left expecting the answer to be no. How wrong I was - ticket on the way ! Full marks to the Foundation Team - have never let me down.
