'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Rumour Mill-Guerrero Update & Craig Gardner.

According to media reports today, Owen Coyle has been linked with a move for Aston Villa midfielder, Craig Gardner.

The 22 year old England Under 21 International turned professional with Aston Villa in January 2005 after coming through their youth system.

Gardner signed a new four-year deal with Villa in September 2008 taking him up to the summer of 2012.

The rumours suggest we are interested in a season-long loan rather than a permanent move which would make sense bearing in mind his current contract.

Although a midfielder he can also play at right back althugh we seem to have plenty of defenders vying for that position at the moment!

Owen Coyle was actually at Villa Park yesterday although that was for a Premier League Manager's Meeting but the fact he was there is still bound to fuel speculation.

There is also some news on Ecuador International winger, Fernando Guerrero, the 19 year old who impressed Owen Coyle while out on trial in the US. He played in both our US friendly matches against VC Fusion and Portland Timbers but has now returned to Ecuador where he currently plays for Independiente del Valle.

Owen Coyle though still sounds keen to sign the former Real Madrid Reserves player:

Coyle said:

'He`s gone back to his club, but I`m back at Burnley (today) and will have dialogue with them. He`s their (Independiente del Valle) player so that`s something I need to take up with them."

It has been reported that the player might cost the club £2 million but we will have to see what the outcome of the further negotiations will be.

yes he was at a Premier league managers meeting at Villa Park. Unlike Gardner who is still on his honeymoon!
