Rumour Mill-Tudgay Move Could Still Be On?

Just before the Clarets departed on their US Tour they had a 2m bid for Owls striker, Marcus Tudgay rejected by Sheffield Wednesday. In a salvo of ill- feeling from the Hillsborough club Burnley were also told in no uncertain terms that the offer was quote 'derisory' and had been 'unsettling for the player'. Both the player and his agent, Darryl Powell seemed upset by the remarks and the feeling was that the 26-year old could slap in a transfer request to force the issue.

Tudgay certainly seemed to be stalling signing a new three contract for the Owls despite giving verbal reasurance that he would do so on his return from holiday back in May. Media reports suggested he was keen to speak to Burnley about a move in order to fulfill his ambitions of playing in the Premier League.

All seemed to then go quiet however with the Clarets out in the US on their West Coast Tour.

News broke yesterday in the national media and on certain Clarets websites that Tudgay had decided against a move and was now willing to sign a new contract with Wednesday after all.

Today however the Lancashire Telegraph state that they understand Tudgay`s future is still uncertain and that Owen Coyle could renew his interest in the striker after returning from the US this Monday.Tudgay is also believed to still want the option to speak with the Clarets gaffer about a potential move.

So once more this saga looks set to continue

I do hope this is resolved one way or the other before the weekend

Tudgay was apparently at an open day at Hillsborough yesterday in which he told fans he was staying at SWFC. Believe it or not? I cant see a situation where a player would ever say to fans in that situation, actually - I want to talk to the club showing an interest.

Who knows what to believe?it could do with resolving one way or the other! this was always going to be on the backburner until we came back from the states!hopefully this will be sorted now for the sake of the player, clubs and fans.

The thing that bugs me about this is that the Owls contract must already be drawn up and it must be a simple matter to sign, so why hasn't he signed it today and got it over with? The answer my friend is blowing in the wind.. ;-)

On and on and on and on...surely this one is done and dusted now ?

I would not be too sure RT i think this will still run-on has said by tmp why has he not signed the contract? and be done with it? he hasn't up to now anyhow but your right about it being on and on and on.

Well it does seem strange that he still hasn't signed a contract, something must still be afoot, it's nearly the end of another week! Coyle though has just got off a plane, was at Villa on Tuesday (Prem managers meeting) and was in preparation for Accy yesterday. Could this mean things could now move forward by the weekend or has he cooled his interest?
