Wes Fletcher Off On Loan to Partick?

First year professional hotshot striker Wes Fletcher is thought to be close to agreeing a six-month loan deal with Scottish club, Partick Thistle.

Owen Coyle and Partick boss Ian McCall are good friends and this would make an ideal opportunity for Wes to gain some valuable experience playing for the Scottish First Division side.

If he does move, he would be following in the footsteps of Jay Rodriguez who was previously sent up to Scotland on loan Rodriguez signed with Stirling Albion on loan until the end of the 2007/2008 season.

More recently it was the turn of Alex MacDonald to take up a loan deal North of the Border after the Scottish Under 19 International signed a six month loan deal with Falkirk

Wes was originally on Liverpool's books joining the Clarets in 2007 after being spotted playing for Lancashire.Ormskirk born, the striker scored 26 goals last season

Good move for the lad if this comes off!

Yep it didn't do Rodriguez no harm ;-) it also helps not getting confused with the Fletchers and the Macdonalds come to think of it! when listening to the radio

I think any move which lets the younger lads get some first team football under their belt is a good move. As said above - a loan spell at Stirling doesnt seem to have harmed young Jay!

Does seem a little strange though that we have just brought in John Henry to develop the young professionals in their first year. Gonna be difficult if they are sent out on loan. Loans though are the way to go

It can't do the lad any harm, I wouldn;t have thought. I am sure that the new coach has cleared this!

This will certainly do him some good but would have liked to have seen Wes play some reserve games against some good players here.
