Thursday's Rumour Mill-A Coyle £2m for Guerrero
Owen Coyle could be ready to pay £2m for Ecuadorian whizz kid Fernando Guerrero if you believe media reports today.
It was confirmed earlier this week that the club would be giving him a trial but now it looks like Owen Coyle may have more definite plans in mind with a view to signing the player.
Coyle has invited the 19-year-old left-winger to the Clarets' training camp in Los Angeles. The team fly out to California today in preparation for their US Tour and hope to meet up with him in the States.
Guerrero is currently at Independiente del Valle in Ecuador following six years with Real Madrid's junior teams.
The Ecuador international left-sided striker was on Real Madrid's books and played for their reserve team, Real Madrid Castilla.
Coyle has been tracking Guerrero for some time it would appear after seeing him in action for Real's reserve team.
The striker who can also play on the left wing and in midfield was born in Quito, Ecuador and is the son of ex-footballer Jose Fernando Guerrero who used to play for Nacional of Quito. The family emigrated to Spain when Fernando was just a child.
Fernando Alexander Guerrero Vásquez, to give him his full name is a product of Real Madrid's Academy after signing for them in 2007.
He played for CS Emelec on loan last season after signing for the Ecuador side in December 2008.
Guerrero made his International debut for Ecuador on 21 January 2007 in a friendly against Sweden and now has two caps to his name.
