Clarets May Have Their Becks to the Wall in US

A surprise announcement in the Lancashire Telegraph today indicates that the Clarets could be about to play Major League Soccer side, LA Galaxy in a behind -closed- doors game during their forthcoming 10 day US Tour.

If this goes ahead and it does still have to be confirmed, it could mean that David Beckham will be lining up against the Clarets. Beckham has just returned from holiday after completing his loan spell with AC Milan.

The Clarets fly out to Los Angeles on Thursday for a training camp on the West Coast and they currently have two scheduled friendly games against PDL side Ventura County Fusion and USL Oregon side Portland Timbers in the pipeline. They had hoped originally to play a third game but this appeared to have been cancelled or so we thought.

It looks now like they will play another US side before they leave LA for Oregon, if this is not LA Galaxy then they could play MLS side, Chivas USA instead.

Chief Executive, Paul Fletcher speaking about the possibility said:

"For us to play at the Home Depot Center, even though it will be behind closed doors, will be a good part of the tour. There`s a chance of such a game, but it isn`t confirmed yet. It`s been in the pipeline for a while, but if it doesn`t come off there`s a chance we could play Chivas, another Major League Soccer side."
