Jones the Saddler!

Jones the Saddler!

League One Walsall have completed the signing of former Clarets striker and winger,Steve Jones who was released by Burnley this summer.

Walsall gaffer, Chris Hutchings told the club's website:

'He is a player who will excite people. We had to fight off plenty of competition from elsewhere to secure his services and he is a great acquisition for this football club.'

He continued: 'He can create and score goals and his experience will benefit those around him. He is comfortable on the left, right and through the middle, so he will increase our options.'

32 year old Jones is a Northern Ireland International with 29 caps.He joined Burnley on a free transfer from Crewe in May 2006, agreeing a three-year deal which expired at the end of last season. Coyle never really found a role for him and he was out on loan three times during 2008 and 2009 playing for his former club,Crewe and then Huddersfield and Bradford City. Jones scored just six goals in 58 appearances for the Clarets.

Good luck,Steve, sorry it never really worked out for you at Turf Moor.
