Swans Chairman Confirms Clarets Bid for Scotland

Swans Chairman Confirms Clarets Bid for Scotland

Swansea chairman Huw Jenkins has told the club`s official website:

"Burnley have made an approach for Jason Scotland but our valuation for a player who has finished as our top scorer over the last two seasons is miles apart, we value Jason very highly - after all he has scored 53 goals in the last two seasons for us.I think everyone in football is well aware now that we do not need to sell anyone. And we certainly won`t let any player go for below what we think they are worth - whether that`s Jason Scotland or anyone else for that matter."

The Clarets are understood to have made a seven-figure bid about the £1 million mark.

So Coyle did want him afterall, wonder if they will now up the ante or if Wigan will strike?

So, I guess we are now going to watch an extremely slow game of poker? More exciting than Twenty20 though! Hope Coyle doesn't bid too high this time. Anyone know anything about Scotland's current contract?

Make of this what you will-“At no time have we made a written offer for Jason Scotland,” said Coyle. "There was just a private conversation between Brendan Flood and Huw Jenkins where they spoke about the player. I’ve always said that we are discreet and will always keep our business close to our chest.” Obviously Jenkins doesnt!!
