Fixtures 2009/10-It's A Copyright To Do!

All Clarets fans will be eager for the Fixtures 2009/10 to be announced tomorrow as we prepare for our first season in the top flight since 1976 and our first ever in the Premier League as we know it today.

The questions on everyone's lips at the moment are:

Which team will we play first?

Will it be home or away?

When will we beat Blackburn twice?

When will we play the Big Four?

When will we have to re-mortgage the house to afford a Man U away ticket?

What will the run-in be like in April?

Well we will know the answers to that tomorrow at about 10 am ((Wed 17th June)but you will have to visit the full fixture list on the Official Site to satisfy your curiosity because Vital Burnley is not allowed to publish the fixtures due to copyright law.

Due to the nature of football and the pathetic rules and regulations they impose, we aren't able to mention fixtures or publish lists, despite the fact these fixtures are basically just adverts for the games we pay our hard earned money to go and see. Beyond belief? You bet!

The situation has been the same for sometime, despite European Court of Justice rulings to the contrary. Dataco (the branch that look after PL, FL and SPL) are still charging massive fees for fixtures so we can't show them. Each site would have to fork out 400 to be able to publish the fixtures.

If you are not prepared to fork out that ridiculous amount of money (and who would) the rule is basically you can say no more than 2 or so fixtures.

They (Dataco) will be watching, if you break those rules they will contact the owners of the Vital network and threaten.

We will take them down, go back to them for comment on the European Court of Justice ruling and they'll ignore it! Complete and utter prats!

I do however need to request that you all please resist the temptation to cut & paste fixtures on Vital Burnley so we can keep the Noddies at bay! We will announce something on the fixtures but basically we cant go to town on them.

We do have some good news though, the club can designate one unofficial site to also publish the fixtures for a token, nominal amount. Just one unofficial site has dominated for years and years and nobody else has been able to get a look in. Well after some negotiations with the club that will now change in 2010/11 and we will be moving to a rota system with all interested unofficial sites being given the fixtures in strict rotation. Vital Burnley will therefore get the 2010/11 Fixtures so let's hope by then we are still in the top flight!

Yep right load of rubbish but please help me by not giving DottyCo an excuse to whinge! Still good news for next season, so I am much happier compared to the previous monopoly!

It's a continual battle testing the water.J is up to here with the whinging idiots having nothing better to do than scour websites every year this time for signs of copyright infringement. Wish they would grow up and take note of the European Court of Justice but nobody has enough financial clout to stand up to the pin cushions (rhymes with dicks!)

Bet Old Trafford aren't the most expensive - what about Chelsea, Tottenham and the like ? Timely warning about the fixtures from TMP but I, for one, am certainly looking forward to attending some games next year. South Coast team who play in blue and the sides situated either side of Stanley Park are three examples of grounds I haven't been to yet. Hopefully we will have some good games during the Yuletide festival.

There must be more footy fans out of bed and showing vital signs by 10am on this day than on almost any other.

Don't think you'll catch the first game on your hols, sheclaret, unless you're going on holiday to the potteries. If you're on the south coast and anywhere near lyme regis, I will probably be at home (unless I have gone to potteries) and you'd be welcome to come round and listen to Clarets World (assuming it still works now we're in the Prem!) The club website seemed to have crashed when I looked a few moments ago. Must be all the anxiety about folk heading from Old Trafford to Turf Moor the following Tuesday. Am I allowed to say all of this?

That will surely be on sky and will get to watch. Should make Toffees game as on an early morning flight home that day. I noticed all games seem to be Sat, I thought a lot were played Sun or Mon

I think that this fixture list is only provisional, to the extent that SKY and Setanta (or whoever gets their picks) will say in the next few days or weeks what they want to televise when, and we will say 'of course'.

Not sure the Man United game will be on SKY sheclaret. I just went through the fixtures and the only one i am particularly annoyed about is the Fulham away on a Tuesday night. A ground I havent been too and will have to take an afternoon off work if I want to go. Also think our start and run-in is unkind. Playing 3 teams likely to be in the relegation hunt AWAY in April along with 2 teams likely to have something to play for at the right end (at home) is tough. Similarly 4 out of the top 5 in our first 5 games is also a little harsh. Still - We are Premier League - thats what it is about!
