Clarets to Sample Shrimps in Morecambe!

Owen Coyle's side will travel to Morecambe on Tuesday 14th July to play the League 2 side in a friendly at Christie Park(Kick-off will be 7.45pm)

Again not a particularly challenging match for a side preparing for the top flight for the first time in 33 years but there will at least be some local interest and a chance to go to the seaside in the height of summer!

Sammy McIlroy's men finished 11th in League 2 last season.

Once more it looks like a quiet time at Turf Moor in pre-season with just one match at home to Leeds announced so far although the away games at Bradford, Chester, Accrington and now Morecambe are not too far to get to for Clarets fans.

The US Tour and Scottish Tour add to the pre-season activity announced by the club so far.

The full list to date for the record now reads:

Bradford City (A), Saturday, July 11 (3pm).

Morecambe (A), Tuesday, 14th July (7.45pm)

USA Tour 2009

VC Fusion in Los Angeles, Monday, 20th July

Well at least we haven't got the Shrimpers in the first round of the Carling, which honour goes to PNE, I think. I can't say I remember reliably because I didn't look too closely... because us big clubs get a bye!!! Geography teachers and other anoraks might be interested in seeing that Southampton has got Northampton.
