The Predictable Accy Baccy in Pre-Season!

The Clarets will travel the short-distance to Accrington Stanley for their now traditional pre-season friendly.

The match will be played on Tuesday 28th July. Kick off will be 7.30pm at the Crown Ground (Fraser Eagle Stadium except the sponsors are no longer in business!)

Accrington have also today been given a reprieve after the winding-up petition was adjourned at the High Court in London.

The club have put forward proposals to HM Revenue and Customs to clear a £300,000 tax bill in instalments over the next 12 months.

HM Revenue and Customs have been satisfied that the club are serious about clearing their debt.

'It's as positive and encouraging as it can be,' chief executive Rob Heys told BBC Radio Lancashire.

The good news probably allowed confirmation that the two local teams could now clash again in pre-season.

The Official website have also stated further friendlies will be announced but the list so far contains no teams higher up than League One.

The full list announced so far reads:

Bradford City (A), Saturday, July 11 (3pm).

USA Tour 2009

VC Fusion in Los Angeles, Monday, 20th July

Second game yet be confirmed in LA, Wednesday, 22nd July

Portland Timbers at PGE Park, Oregon, Saturday, July 25th.

Accrington Stanley (A), Tuesday, July 28th.

Leeds United (H), Saturday, August 1, (3pm).

I am glad Accy Stanley have got a reprieve it would be sad for them to go out of the league once again having worked so hard to get back there.

Yep agree with that, sounds like they will be OK though. It didnt help with their sponsors going bust (Fraser Eagle)
turfmanphil
I think Fraser Eagle took on to much at once hence their downfall a shame since they have been providing coaches for years round here.

Pity the game is on a Tuesday night, don't think it will be a capacity match like it is usually when we play them on a Saturday. Accy like hosting us as it adds to the coffers, but don't think they will get as many on it being Tuesday.
