Leeds to Visit Turf Moor in Pre-Season Friendly

The Clarets will host Simon Grayson's League 1 side, Leeds United in a pre-season friendly at Turf Moor on Saturday, August 1(3pm Kick Off)

Ticket details will be announced at a later date.

This will be the second time in three years that the two clubs have met in a pre-season friendly. In 2007, goals from Andy Gray and Ade Akinbiyi gave the Clarets a 2-0 victory at Turf Moor.

This announcement follows confirmation yesterday that the Clarets would also be in the US in July playing American teams in California and Oregon.

Time for Clarets fans to rub it in again maybe? How the mighty have fallen

Always pleased to welcome dear old Leeds. But I hope we'll soon be announcing some friendlies against some current top flight clubs. Remember how we all felt after beating loads of lower tier ones last pre-season and then only getting 2 points from the first 4 games? Aren't we due a game against Gers? How about Hamburg or Napoli for old times sake? By the way, given that this last season ended up so well, are we going to invite our lucky parachutist back again? Maybe he could be carried round the Turf on a stretcher this time? Any other suggestions?

Were we not supposed to be getting a friendly against Man Utd as part of the young lad John Kofi?

Now would certainly be the time to play it! Yep,think there was something about that in the Cofie deal

My first thought when I saw this was that it was good to see a big team visisting us pre-season. Then I realised that this, in fact, will be a nice day out for the Leeds fans. Not often they get the chance to pit their wits against a Premier League side these days.

Not sure if CP remembers the S*****y Pants Dog Training School appearing at half time a few years ago. Think it might have been against Colchester. The ' act' consisted of the dogs and their handlers undertaking tricks like hoop jumping supposedly indicating various ranges of canine discipline. Without exception the dogs were completely disinterested and the group were booed off the pitch in most ungentlemanly terms by those in attendance. I seem to remember one mutt giving his response to proceedings in a rather predictable but unpleasant fashion. I don't think the dogs were ever invited back.

Thanks for sharing that memory RT.

Entertainment on the Turf, dont you just love it? I remember how I felt watching that plonker parachute onto the Cricket Field Stand roof in our first home match againt Ipswich and then losing 3-0 having already been thumped 4-1 away to Owls in season openner. 'This is not going to be our season' I said to myself. Thank gawd I was so,so wrong!!

Mayeb the Turf should apply to host an early round of Britain's Got Talent?

From Owen Coyle to Susan Boyle? Ouch!!

I will take the same start to the season in the premiership as we had this season in the championship and finish 5th, that would really stick it to all the pundits saying we will not survive and all those pne and b@st@rds fans saying we are going to break a record of having the all time lowest points in the prems history.
